The Magpie 04:43
That lonely magpie Looms high above our heads It's come to steal our light And sing for our dead They say a drop of the devil's blood Is trapped under its tongue And if you set it free They will sing like you and me That bird refused to go Below with all the rest It stayed upon the deck To curse god and his rain The magpie never wept As it perched upon the cross It offered no comfort To the dead of Skull Mountain That lonely magpie Looms high above our heads It's come to steal our light And sing for our dead

As I walked out one summer's morn, Saw a scarecrow tied to a pole in a field of corn. His coat was black, and his head was bare, When the wind shook him the crows took up into the air. Ah, but you'd lay me down and love me, Ah, but you'd lay me down and love me if you could. But you're only a bag of rags in an overall That the wind sways and the crows fly away and the corn grows tall. As I walked out one winter's day, Saw an old man hanging from a pole in a field of clay. His coat was gone, and his head hung low, Till the wind flung it up to look, wrung its neck and let it go. How could you lay me down and love me? How could you lay me down and love me now? For you're only a bag of bones in an overall That the wind blows and the kids throw stones at the thing on the pole. As I walked out one fine spring day, Saw twelve jolly dons decked out in the blue and the gold so gay. And to a stake they tied a child newborn, Then the bells were rung and the songs were sung and they sowed their corn. Now you can lay me down and love me, Now you can lay me down and love me if you will. But you're only a bag of rags in an overall But the wind blew and the sun shone too and the corn grew tall. As I walked out one summer's morn, Saw a scarecrow tied to a pole in a field of corn.

The Raven 03:23
The raven never returned It was feeding on the dead They sent, sent it for land But all it found is bodies in water They think, they think him cruel But all he found is all that he needed The raven living with the dead A bridge between life and what's after They carry souls of the damned They spit and sing the song of the lost A bird of both hope and fear Where they gather, death is always near To defeat the crown We must give them back their wings Return them to the sky And watch the towers fall When those birds fly free So shall we

The Birds 02:03
The hills grow in the waning light The silence as heavy as approaching night The birds fly low, searching for life Among the whin and the ash Among the whin and the ash There used to be so much here, too much to remain But now all that's left for the birds is dry ash and whin Dry ash and whin
